All eligible participants will be invited to take part in the in the respective categories in mid-year 2012. Champions from the finals will win an all-expense paid trip* to Las Vegas, Nevada, USA and represent Singapore to compete in the 2012 Worldwide Competition on Microsoft Office!
The National Finals only consist of the following 2 categories:
The participating fee for finals will be at $75.00 for per exam taken. This participating fee is for taking an actual Microsoft Office Certification exam. The fee listed above is only applicable for the participants in the Competition.
At Certiport Singapore's discretion, the Final Round Exam may have two parts. The first will consist of the standard core competition exam. The second portion is the new component, a scenario-based task.
Participants will be given a high-resolution copy of a Word document or Excel workbook to recreate, a printed set of guidelines containing specifications for the document or workbook, and data files that can be used as building blocks to speed up the recreation of the document or workbook. Students will be allowed up to 50 minutes to recreate the document or workbook they are provided.
For the purposes of the Competition, Certiport Singapore is subsidising the difference in the exam fee from the usual fee. Participating fee is non-negotiable and non-refundable. You may want to check with your school if EduSave can be used.
The final exam score for each participant will be an equal combination of the two components for the competition.
All eligible participants will be invited to take part in the PowerPoint National Finals (date and venue will be announced at a later date). Champion from the finals will win an all-expense paid trip* to Las Vegas, Nevada, USA and represent Singapore to compete in the 2012 Worldwide Competition on Microsoft Office!
This category will need each participant to prepare a (min) 8 to 10 (max)slide PowerPoint presentation based on a selected topic (which will be announced at a later date) using PowerPoint 2010 and to be submitted to us by 15 May 2012. The presentation must demonstrate use of the software to deliver an effective presentation.
The 10 best presentations will be shortlisted and invited to a session to present (5 mins) to a panel of judges and it will include Q&A on why the presentation are being done in such a method and the techniques used.
The final exam score for these top 10 finalists will be an equal combination of their preliminary Microsoft Office Specialist score and the National Final's score.
