What's different from last year?

We're excited to include for the first time ever the PowerPoint 2007 exam as well as the MOS 2010 Word and Excel exams to this year's competition.

MOS 2003 Word, Excel and PowerPoint exams will be available for students for the country competition but are NOT included in this year's Worldwide Competition.

Previous regional, country and Worldwide Champions can compete in this year's qualifying and final competition ONLY if they are competing in a different exam and exam version. For example, if a student placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in their regional, country or at the Worldwide Finals in Microsoft Excel® 2003, they can participate this year in any exam EXCEPT Microsoft Excel® 2003.

 

How to Participate

Below are the categories available:

• Microsoft Office Specialist Word 2003 Exam (Not eligible for Worldwide Competition)
• Microsoft Office Specialist Excel® 2003 Exam (Not eligible for Worldwide Competition)
• Microsoft Office Specialist PowerPoint® 2003 Exam (Not eligible for Worldwide Competition)
• Microsoft Office Specialist Word 2007 Exam
• Microsoft Office Specialist Excel® 2007 Exam
• Microsoft Office Specialist PowerPoint® 2007 Exam
• Microsoft Office Specialist Word 2010 Exam
• Microsoft Office Specialist Excel® 2010 Exam

Singapore's tertiary students will be competing on the Word 2010 and Excel 2010, while the pre-tertiary will be competing in the Word 2007 and Excel 2007 against other participants around the world. PowerPoint 2007 will be an open category for all the students.

The participating fee for the 2003 categories will be at $65.00+GST for per exam taken, and for the 2007 and 2010 categories will be at $75.00+GST for per exam taken. This participating fee is for taking an actual Microsoft Office Certification exam. The fee listed above is only applicable for the participants in the Competition. The usual exam fee for Microsoft Office Specialist Exam 2003 is $130.00+GST and Microsoft Office Specialist Exam 2007 and 2010 is $150.00+GST.

For the purposes of the Competition, Certiport Singapore is subsidising the difference in the exam fee from the usual fee. Participating fee is non-negotiable and non-refundable. You may want to check with your school if EduSave can be used.

The student(s) with the best exam score and time will be selected and invited to participate in the next round of testing. A tie-breaker round may be conducted if necessary in the finals to select the country representatives for each categories.
