The 2011 Worldwide Competition on Microsoft Office attracted more than 228,000 unique candidates from 57 countries who competed to demonstrate their mastery of Microsoft Office products. Clement Ng Chwin Chiat, Malaysia – Microsoft Word 2010 Chen Xing, China – Microsoft Excel 2010 Mizuki Terao, Japan – Microsoft Word 2007 Rebecca Rickwood, United Kingdom – Microsoft Excel 2007 Liao Yu-Xuan, Taiwan – Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 Certiport recognized these top five student competitors at the Worldwide Competition on Microsoft Office Student Awards Ceremony in San Diego, and presented each with a $5,000 scholarship. Students from Singapore have also put in their best efforts and performed admirably at the Worldwide Competition: Gerald Wong , Singapore Polytechnic – Microsoft Word 2010, 1st Runner Up Randy Lim, Temasek Polytechnic – Microsoft Word 2010, 4th Runner Up Tan Wang Leng, Temasek Polytechnic – Microsoft Excel 2010, 3rd Runner Up Dominique Soon, Singapore Polytechnic – Microsoft Excel 2010, 5th Runner Up Ng Say Wei, North Vista Secondary School – Microsoft Excel 2007, Finalist Russell Marino Soh, NUS High School of Mathematics and Science - Microsoft PowerPoint 2007, Finalist Next year, Certiport will host the 2012 Worldwide Competition on Microsoft Office in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. Providing a platform for students to showcase their extraordinary skills using Microsoft Office tools, this nationally recognized competition enables students to:
Hundreds of students from Singapore will compete from Feburary 2011 through June 2011 in the 2011 Singapore Microsoft Office Academic Skills Challenge, demonstrating their proficiency with the world's foremost desktop computing applications. The top finalists will win an all-expense paid trip to San Diego, USA to participate in the Worldwide Competition on Microsoft Office. The Worldwide Competition will be held at the Torrey Pines Hilton, Sunday, 31 July through Wednesday, 3 August, 2011.
